During the next few months, we’ll prepare you for your arrival on the hill with The Road to ´ó·¢²ÊƱ brochure, our , the community summer reading, and emails to remind you about important dates and deadlines. The items below are due within the next few weeks, they can also be found on the new student checklist.
Language Background Form - Due May 28, 2025
´ó·¢²ÊƱ offers a wide range of language courses that you can take depending on your previous experience. Providing a more detailed description of your language background will help us explain the various ways you can fulfill the Core Liberal Arts Practice in Language Study. Upon completion of this form, you may also be prompted to complete a placement exam.
Set up your accounts by May 31, 2025
Please take a few minutes now to set up your ´ó·¢²ÊƱ computing/network account. This allows you to access and organize your ´ó·¢²ÊƱ email, and it enables us to communicate important information to you prior to Arrival Day. Please note that, after May 31, all ´ó·¢²ÊƱ communications will come to your ´ó·¢²ÊƱ email address only.
When you log in to your network account, you will be prompted to set up DUO for multi-factor authentication. Next, you need to enroll in Google 2-Step verification.
At no cost to you, ´ó·¢²ÊƱ provides some academic software, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. A full list can be found on the software page.

Reserve a spot in Wilderness Adventure or another pre-orientation program by completing the Learn more about the optional and required programs by visiting the pre-orientation webpage.
What’s to come
In the coming weeks you’ll receive information about your housing preference form, your first-year ´ó·¢²ÊƱ Academic Preferences and Experiences (CAPE) form, and required online trainings to complete over the summer. The will have the most up-to-date timeline and links for your reference.
Your Road to ´ó·¢²ÊƱ can be found online at colgate.edu/newstudents. The guide provides you with everything you need to know about starting your ´ó·¢²ÊƱ experience in the fall. It covers academics, living on campus, health and well-being, equity and inclusion, pre-orientation programs, and, of course, Arrival Day and Orientation. This information, and all other communications, are included in this blog for your reference.
We’ve created something for your parents and family members, as well — a Family Preparation Guide. We understand how important it is for them to be a part of your transition to ´ó·¢²ÊƱ, and their transition is just as vital.
